THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF 2016 IN THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM AND PLANS OF THE CURRENT YEAR

In 2016, within the framework of development programs of agriculture in Artsakh, greater attention was paid to the modernization of irrigation systems, the investments of new technologies and water saving systems to provide rational usage of existing water resourses.

According to “the annual inspections program of 2016 of the State Inspectorate of the Protection and Usage of Water Systems of the Staff of the Ministry of Agriculture of NKR”, the representatives of the sector made inspections and observations in different regions of the Republic.

For promoting drip systems, the volumes of applications submitted from the regional administrations were clarified and adopted within the framework of “the modernization of water systems” subprogram.

A number of construction works, particularly repair of reservoirs, canals and water pipelines were carried out.

Renovation activities were done in “Avo source” situated in Spitakashen community of Martuni region.

The representatives of the appropriate sector of the Staff of the Ministry showed professional support for making activities held in the regions more effective and qualitative as well as they gave necessary recommendations and instructions.

For providing the development of water sector in the current year, it is intended to hold the following measures: the construction of artesian water wells, renovation, promotion of the investments of water saving technologies, as well as the renovation, restoration and maintenance of reservoirs, canals and water pipelines.
