Visit to the Breeding Center of the Ministry of Agriculture
On march 30 the Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture of the RA Norayr Musayelyan, Deputy Minister Vilien Avetisyan and the Director of CJSC “Seed production, verification of selection achievements, conservation and seed quality control center” Karen Adamyan visited the winter wheat sowing fields of “SPVSACSQCC” CJSC, got acquainted with the varieties of seeds of cultivated grain crops and the current state of sowing.
The minister was interested in the effect of snow on crops, which K. Adamyan described as quite positive.
According to the latter, not only abundant, but also timely precipitation is possible for agricultural crops. According to him, the snow was very useful for sowing.
Due to the lack of precipitation in recent years due to climate change, it is very possible to use the mechanisms of accumulation of moisture in the soil. Here soil cultivation plays an important role.“This measure allows you to get 1.7-2.5 times more, in conditions of insufficient rainfall, the most important, high-quality (protein-rich) crop,” said K. Adamyan.
Norayr Musayelyan also visited the convertible husbandry fields cultivated by the Breeding Center.
“According to experts, the condition of the fields of the center is very good at the moment. Depending on future weather conditions, it will be clear how many seeds of the first reproduction the Center will be able to offer our land users,” Norayr Musaelyan concluded.
It should be added that this year the “Seed production, verification of selection achievements, conservation and seed quality control center” CJSC is growing the first reproductive seeds of 4 varieties of wheat for the 2022 harvest: “Alekseevich”, “Yuka”, “Vasa” and “Bezostoya 100”.
