Norayr Musayelyan received executive directors of the Research and Production CJSC “Gyumri Breeding Station” and SOAR Armenian Foundation

On February 22, the Minister of Agriculture of the RA Norayr Musaelyan received the Director of the Research and Production CJSC “Gyumri Breeding Station” of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia David Martirosyan and the Executive Director of the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief (SOAR) Faundation Hripsime Muradyan.
Welcoming those present, the minister thanked the guests for always being close to Artsakh, emphasizing that it would be possible to restore the economy of Artsakh only through joint efforts.
The sides discussed the possibilities of joint production of seeds in the Republic of Artsakh, as well as the supply of seeds to Artsakh. Production of primary seeds, introduction of a chain fertilizer mechanism, production of new, drought-resistant seeds of legumes.
It is noteworthy that in 2020-2021, the research and production CJSC “Gyumri Breeding Station” supplied more than 100 tons of elite reproduction seeds to the Republic of Artsakh.
The Minister also mentioned the long-term experience of the company in improving the breed of the cattle “Caucasian Gray”, shared his experience in this area in Artsakh (in the Republic of Artsakh, the improvement of the local herd is carried out by crossing the Shleg, Fleg, Jersey breeds).
Touching upon the implementation of socially oriented programs by the SOAR-Armenia Charitable Foundation, Norayr Musayelyan emphasized the importance of such initiatives (the foundation provides assistance to about 12 low-income families from the regions of Artsakh: provision of livestock, poultry, fodder, vocational training, professional tools), as they largely degrees contribute to financial stability and family well-being.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Ministers of Agriculture of the Republic of Artsakh V. Avetisyan, T. Arstamyan, Deputy Director of the National Academy of Sciences of Artsakh V. Kazaryan.
