The delegation of “Gyumri Selection Station” CJSC of Ministry of Economy of the RA is in Artsakh. The scope of cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Artsakh will be expanded
On July 11 the delegation of the “Gyumri Breeding Station” CJSC of the ME of the RA, headed by the company’s director David Martirosyan was visited Artsakh.
The delegation accompanied by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Vilen Avetisyan, first visited the Berdashen community of the Martuni region to assess the condition of the corn seeds tested by the company.
After that, a meeting was held with the director of the “Center of seed quality testing, conservation and experimentation of selection achievements, seed-farming” CJSC Artak Safaryan, at which the possibilities of expanding the scope of cooperation between the two companies were discussed. In particular, agreements were reached for the supply of super elite seeds, training of local specialists in Gyumri, as well as the involvement of local specialists in conducting scientific and experimental analyzes and publishing articles in scientific journals have been organized.
Representatives of the delegation of “Breeding Station” CJSC got acquainted with the peculiarities of livestock breeding in Artsakh. Georgy Lalayan, director of the station, acquainted the guests with the material and technical equipment of the farm and automated technologies used in the maintenance, care, feeding and milking of breeding animals.
“The breeding economy of Artsakh pleasantly surprised us with its development and progress, and the advanced experience used here can serve as an example for us,”- D. Martirosyan said.
Representatives of the delegation also visited variety testing at the breeding station of the Ministry of Agriculture, where they got acquainted with the sowing of grain crops grown in arid conditions.
In the afternoon, the delegation was received by Minister of Agriculture Norayr Musayelyan. At the meeting, all the agreements reached during the day and the upcoming tasks were summed up. Norayr Musaelyan noted that he highly appreciates the cooperation with the “Gyumri Breeding Station” of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia and thanked them for their constant support of the same structure in Artsakh.
“Let’s hope that as a result of consistent and purposeful work, we will be able to raise the seed industry of Artsakh to the highest level and ensure demand for grain seeds through local production,” the minister concluded.
