Stricter control of pre-holiday and post-holiday days

Taking into account the fact that on the eve of the New Year the volume of trade in the market of food and non-food products and the resulting risks are increasing, the State service of food safety, market and protection of consumer benefits of the MEA of the RA has formed working groups of inspectors from January 1, 2022 to January 14, 2022. including economic entities engaged in the sale of food and non-food products of the republic.
During the control, compliance with the requirements of the expiration dates and storage conditions of the sold food products was checked. In parallel, measurements of residual nitrates in food products of plant origin sold by business entities were carried out. These days, 271 economic entities of the food and non-food market were checked.
During the control work, the maximum residual amounts of nitrates in vegetables and fruits were measured and expired products were found. Measurements have shown that the amount of nitrates in fruits and vegetables is comply with government approved standards. In total, 4930 kg of fruits and vegetables were produced, including potatoes – 1150 kg, tomatoes – 810 kg, cucumbers – 850 kg, onions – 550 kg, grapes – 310 kg, apples – 560 kg, cabbage – 700.
Discovered by with the consent of economic entities, the following expired products were destroyed on the spot: meat – 15,160 kg, dairy products – 4,300 kg, juices – 28,830 l, sweets – 2,430 kg, other products – 2,450 kg.
